Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers stated they were notified by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then located multiple other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials said they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for information.

A senior official stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be solved quickly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
