The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
